How can i prevent pollen from lillies as it stains?
yeah I know this problem alright, they've ruined many a top for me, even worse is it's highly poisonous to cats, it's often fatal for them. So if there's lillies in a bunch of flowers in the house we very carefully snip off the blobs on the end, catching them on paper or a tissue then wrap it up and chuck 'em away.
Reply:Get a pair of tweezers and remove the orange bit as soon as the lily opens (it won't feel a thing).
Reply:If you're talking about cut lillies which you want to display in your home - simply snip the offending bits out with a pair of scissors.
Reply:I know - it's terrible

Patricia M is right - or cut off the stamens with scissors
Reply:The best thing to do is remove the stamen as soon as the flowers start to open. Then there is no chance of the pollen staining anything as you will have removed it from the flowers.
